spirit attachments
Spirit or entity attachments occur when there is an affinity in your energy field for another spirit or energy in the environment. The spirit will then attach itself onto the Luminous Energy Field and influence the actions, emotions and responses of the person. Does this sound like a ‘possession’? In a sense, that is what we are talking about. This is not what is characterized in movies such as “The Exorcist”. It is generally much more subtle than that. In fact, a person may go about their life for years without anyone, including themselves, even suspecting something is amiss.
To illustrate, we will recount the true story of a client we will call ‘Tony’. Tony was generally a peaceable man except when he was challenged. The problem was, Tony saw most everything as a personal challenge. Although never physically violent, his hurtful words and demeanor could leave a person totally distraught by the time he was finished ‘winning’ the argument. It was not enough for him to be right, the other person needed to be humiliated. Later, he would describe these times as if he were a spectator to the argument. He knew nothing about spirit attachments and never suspected.
Tony began a spiritual search and attended several workshops. He came to one on intrusive spirits and spirit communication. During the workshop, the facilitator asked for a volunteer and Tony’s hand shot up. As Tony sat in a chair in the middle of the group, the instructor began demonstrating how to scan for intrusive energies on a person’s energy field. Suddenly, the instructor stopped and said, “Tony, I am picking up a spirit stuck in your Field.”
Tony’s response was skepticism and an immediate feeling of being challenged. He responded with “Yeah? Who is it?” He waited for the instructor to make up a general name and say it was some unknown relative.
To Tony’s utter shock, the instructor said, “You used to work with him. He died while on vacation. You and he used to argue a lot and he still enjoys arguing through you. The name you called him by was….Wally.” This was true. He had worked with Wally about twenty years before in another state. No one there even knew about this part of his life. This was the first time he had met the instructor. He had never even told his girlfriend about that part of his life. He considered it an unimportant part of his past, yet here it was.
He admitted to the instructor that, yes, he had known a ‘Wally’ years ago. The instructor worked with Tony and Wally. After a while, Wally was coaxed from Tony’s Luminous Energy Field and sent on to the next stage of his journey. Tony remarked about how different he felt. A follow up with Tony several weeks later revealed a profound change in Tony’s disposition. He no longer felt challenged at the least affront and remarked, “It just doesn’t seem as important to be always right anymore.” He has continued on his spiritual journey and is now privileged to be helping others on their spiritual path.
